CRM + Microsoft Teams + SharePoint = Collaboration squared

Especially in SMEs, the CRM solution is the backbone of many businesses. However, it's striking that fewer and fewer employees are logging in daily. Not because CRM is less important, but because the focus of communication is shifting to other channels, especially Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Time to make the connection, literally and figuratively!

Variety of tools

You'll surely recognize this: another notification in Teams, a new document in SharePoint, and a task still open in the CRM solution. The sheer number of tools you work with doesn't necessarily make collaboration easier.

How can you collaborate in a smarter way without losing sight of the big picture? The solution is to connect the right tools. More and more organizations are using Teams as their primary internal communication tool. So why not integrate your CRM solution directly with the place where everyone already collaborates? With that in mind, we developed a module that connects Aurea CRM with Microsoft Teams.

Aurea CRM + Microsoft Teams = better collaboration

By combining these two tools, we bring order to the chaos. As soon as there are changes to a ticket or opportunity within the CRM solution, you can automatically start a Teams chat with everyone involved – from account manager to project manager.

Take the example of an activity that goes past its due date. You can configure Aurea CRM so that the responsible employee automatically receives a message in Teams. This message could say, for example: “You have not yet followed up on this task. Click here to handle it immediately.”

Furthermore, the integration works both ways: you can directly link chats from Teams to a record in Aurea CRM. Simply using a tag like @CRM automatically logs the conversation with the right customer, opportunity, or project.

This approach strengthens your 360-degree customer view: all communication is saved with the correct topic. No more scattered notes, but one complete overview.

Handy for on the go

The integration is especially useful for sales and service teams that are often on the go. They no longer have to constantly log into their CRM system to know what's happening. They simply receive a Teams message with all the relevant information and can respond immediately. This way, they maintain momentum and everyone stays engaged, without the well-known ‘tool fatigue.’.

Also integrate SharePoint with CRM

But there's more. Many organizations still store their documents in the CRM solution, but the system isn't actually designed for that. CRM is not a document management system; yet we often see companies uploading files into CRM, causing databases to fill up and data to be duplicated.

We solve this phenomenon as well through integration: a link between Aurea CRM and SharePoint. This allows users to easily add so-called deep links from SharePoint to records in Aurea CRM. The document remains on SharePoint but is relationally linked to a customer, quote, or project.

That's the perfect combination: you retain the structure and context of CRM, but work in documents where they belong: on SharePoint. You can work on them simultaneously, track versions, and open them directly from Aurea CRM. No hassle with duplicate storage or outdated files.

Order in the message stream

The integrations with Teams and SharePoint are developed on the Microsoft Azure platform and form our own extension to the existing Aurea CRM environment. As a partner, we continue to continuously improve Aurea with practical solutions that fit the way people truly collaborate.

These integrations bring order to the daily flow of messages and documents by making CRM information directly visible in the right place within Teams. The result: fewer separate emails, fewer missed tasks, and most importantly, much tighter collaboration.
